ITT Tech closes all campuses, state steps in to help students

ITT’s accrediting agency said in April that ITT Technical Institutes – which provide career-oriented education programs – had not demonstrated compliance with certain accreditation standards. Sherrod Brown explains, they can transfer their credits to continue their education at another college.

On Tuesday, ITT blamed the department’s action for why it was closing. ED demanded the LoC increase due to concerns about ITT’s ability to repay money it owed the Department.

ITT operated 130 campuses in 38 states, serving 40,000 students according to the company’s website. Her student loans top $12,000.
