ITT Tech students continue to search for answers about transcripts and credits
The Carmel Indiana-based company that operates the national I-T-T Technical Institutes will shut down every one of its campuses.

As this for-profit tech school abruptly closed its 130 campuses nationwide, It impacts 40,000 students and 8,000 employees.
In a statement, officials with ITT Educational Services – the parent company of ITT Technical Institutes – said they are ceasing all academic operations on ITT Tech campuses “after 50 years of continuous service”.
In ITT Tech’s statement, it says the remaining staff is working to help the students with their records and future educational options but Crain says she’s still waiting for someone to pick up the phone.
This story will be updated. Several instructors interviewed say they had no idea that something was wrong behind the scenes and this caught them by surprise as well.
There will also be webinars about the closure.
ITT Tech did not respond to newsnet5.com’s request for comment. Jessica Whitney, the director of the office’s Consumer Protection Bureau, said the investigation was prompted by concerns over whether ITT was using unfair and deceptive practices in trying to recruit students.
In August, the U.S. Department of Education banned the company from enrolling students who get federal aid. “Right now, I’m probably going to hit the job market, but at the same time continue to further my education”, said Alex Cruz, ITT Tech student.
ITT had been in talks about transferring ownership, the Journal reported, though there was some dispute between the Education Department and the company over how far those talks got or how realistic they were.
“Our responsibility is first and foremost to protect students and taxpayers”, U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. said during last month’s announcement.
