ITV newsreader Tom Bradby tweets outrage following failed attempt to save

Bradby dived in to the dock but was unable to pull the man out of the vehicle.

The channel’s political editor Tom Bradby was in Rafina on the east coast of Greece when he witnessed the elderly man plunge into the water.

He said that he dived into the sea to try and rescue the man, who he claims drove into the sea to kill himself.

But Bradby added that is “shaking with shock and anger” after only one “of the 9 or 10 customs officials and police on the quay” went in to help.

According to Greek English newspaper Ekathimireni, the coastguard and traffic police had been placed on standby in ports including Rafina, to accommodate for the national holiday on August 15. The rest watched. Jesus…

Suicide rates in Greece are reported to have risen by more than a third since the country started to implement tough austerity measures in 2010.

It was not known whether Bradby was in Greece on holiday or on a news assignment.

ITN journalist Tom Bradby, who was recently names as the main presenter of ITV’s News at Ten, tweeted about his experience.

Bradby, who presents political series The Agenda, won acclaim when he gained the first official interview with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after they got engaged.
