During her speech at the Republican National Convention, Ivanka Trump made the case for her father, GOP nominee Donald Trump.

In Cruz’s Wednesday night RNC speech, he told GOPers to “vote with their conscience”, which many took to be a Trump dig and drew loud boos from the gathered delegates. “I’m not going to get into criticizing or attacking Donald Trump, but I’ll give you this response: I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father”. He had to break that pledge, he said, when Trump made things personal.
“I feel so badly, I feel so badly”, Trump said.
“I’m on the radio with someone I hope to help influence on this in a little bit”, Walker said. “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBT citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology”, Trump said. He went on to say Cruz should just “stay home” and “relax” instead.
Trump also reiterated his claim that Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, was photographed in the 1960s with John F. Kennedy’s assassin – Lee Harvey Oswald – handing out pamphlets that supported Cuba’s Fidel Castro. Trump is expected to accept the Republican nomination on the national stage Thursday night in the grand finale of a somewhat disastrous GOP convention that saw his wife Melania Trump plagiarize first lady Michelle Obama in a widely watched speech days before U.S. Sen.
The Texas senator was given a speaking slot, though he had indicated he wasn’t going to offer an endorsement.
In advance of his address, the Trump campaign was roiled after a copy of his speech was leaked to the press, and was published by many news websites hours before he delivered it. Cruz said Thursday morning he couldn’t support Trump after the real-estate mogul attacked his family.
“Maybe I’ll set up a super PAC if he decides to run”, Trump said, then turned to his own lawyer in the audience. He is wonderful. I don’t know if he’s here. “Then when I saw somebody tweeted a picture of Melania and a picture of Heidi, who I think, by the way, is a very nice woman and a very handsome woman”. Mrs. Trump was in the arena to watch her husband give his acceptance speech, perhaps the biggest speech of his very public life.
“It’s just his way of being in your corner when you’re down”. “Now Ted never denied that it was his father”.
“It is true that the USA overall will suffer under a Trump presidency from a foreign policy perspective”.
Trump said Cruz’s change “could have been viewed as a nasty thing in terms of what he said, because he was implying something which is wrong”.

“He’s a chicken”, said Eugene Delgaudio, a delegate from Sterling, Virginia, who clucked like a chicken when asked about Cruz’s decision. “All I did is point out the fact that on the cover of The National Enquirer there was a picture of him and insane Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast”.
