Clinton, by contrast, “does not have a plan to provide relief to most Americans faced with high child care costs” and “prefers institutional child care that does not meet the needs of workers in rural areas or who have schedules that require working on a night shift or on call”, it contended.
There’s also a problem of funding.Trump plans to pay for his six week maternity leave plan by ending unemployment fraud. Now, if that sounds like a Republican gimmick, that’s because it is a Republican gimmick.
Ivanka Trump devoted a portion of her Republican National Convention speech to the topic, promising policies to help women and Trump said last month that child care would be a part of his economic plan.

The timing and location of the announcement are no coincidence. Former assistant secretary for planning, evaluation and policy development at the U.S. Department of Education. The accounts would allow tax-deductible contributions and tax-free appreciation, according to the campaign. This is a positive, market-based approach, which would encourage continued innovation and the efficient use of resources, and an important contrast to the Progressives’ steady push to simply have government become both the payer and provider of all such services.
As TIME reports, Trump’s plan involves child-care tax credits, paid maternity leave, and subsidies for parents who choose to stay at home to care for their children.
She denied complaints the plan isn’t conservative, telling the show that it’s “an American plan, a family plan”. Parental leave policy that focuses only on moms is bad for children, for dads and for women. He has previously touted similar programs at his hotels and golf clubs – but The Associated Press has reported that those options are offered to guests and club members, not employees.
“When established for a minor, funds from a DCSA can be applied to traditional child care, after-school enrichment programs and school tuition-contributing to school choice”. Meanwhile, if you are a middle-class family making $37,000 and child care costs take up a much larger chunk of your monthly income, you will save less than 15 percent.

Since announcing the plan in May, Clinton has offered few details, including how it would be funded beyond raising taxes on wealthy Americans. “The lack of seriousness of this proposal is no surprise given his history of disrespecting women in the workplace and the fact there’s no evidence he ever provided paid family leave or childcare to his own employees”, Clinton aide Maya Harris said.
