Ivanka Trump took care of some (fashion) business at the RNC

Ivanka Trump has impressed a lot of people at the recently concluded Republican National Convention in Cleveland, where she pushed her father’s bid to become the next president of the United States. And she talked about the family.

Donald Trump’s fashion designer daughter – and one of his closest advisers – used her appearance at the RNC to promote her own dress line on Friday morning.

Raised under her father’s spotlight, she has founded various organizations, spreading her influence beyond the high-profile real-estate acquisitions that The Trump Organization is known for.

She has campaigned alongside her father and stepped out on her own on the campaign trail, bringing testimonials and personal anecdotes.

The 34-year-old began her speech: “Like many of my fellow millennials, I do not consider myself categorically Republican or Democrat”.

Ivanka Trump wowed when she spoke at the Republican National Convention.

“My father is a very straight talker”, she told a crowd in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In most respects, Ivanka Trump embodies everything that most socialists would be wary of: wealth, power, inheritance.

Ivanka stayed out of the public fray during the campaign as anti-Semitic trolls went after Jewish journalists who were seen as attacking her father, and as he tweeted what was widely assumed to be a Jewish star in a denunciation of Clinton. She said that “motherhood” is the factor behind the biggest pay gap – and she’s right – and promised that her dad would pass labor reform to protect women. “Ivanka excels at everything she puts her mind to”, said Jared of his wife via People.

“He is colour-blind and gender-neutral”, she said. Bob Corker proposed that rather than himself as Trump’s vice presidential nominee, Ivanka should fill the role.

Trump has faced near-constant criticism for statements he has made about women and minorities. In fact, viewers joked that maybe she should run for president herself.

“His best running mate by the way would be Ivanka”, recommended Corker. A Trump speechwriter has come forward to take the blame.

This goodwill for Ivanka may prove to be a powerful political weapon for her father.

“Don’t trip”, she joked that she will be thinking as she takes the stage Thursday in an interview on NBC’s Today Show.

She added: “So even if I bomb, my father won’t hold it against me”.
