Alex Iwobi is a huge doubt for Arsenal’s next game in the Premier League with Leicester City after picking up an injury in the 4-3 loss to Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday evening.

“Or do they play in this kind of game and get injured, like Ramsey today?” With Mertesacker not due back until the New Year and Gabriel out until October, centre-back has become the priority for Arsene Wenger in the final weeks of the transfer window.

“The thing I don’t understand is, we’ve been told that Arsenal are wealthy, that we have money, that we can compete against anyone in the market”, he commented.

“But when the season starts, we can’t compete in the market”. I just don’t understand.

The good news is that with an global break coming up, Ramsey should only miss two Arsenal games so the damage is limited and Jack Wilshere or Santi Cazorla should be back in contention for a starting spot this weekend.

“It is an impossible situation to get players back from the Euros and prepare”, Wenger told the BBC.

“Are Arsenal still the first choice in England?” Is the money stupid?
