Iwobi must keep his humility – Wenger

Having required a last-gasp penalty to fortuitously secure victory against Southampton last weekend, the north Londoners rode their luck as they started their Champions League campaign with a draw at Paris St Germain.

‘We scored three at Watford and we scored four here, ‘ Wenger noted.

The boss added he was pleased with the way the team saw out the match in the second half, despite a late rally from the 10-man hosts. “It was a great performance, there are so many good players to lean from and I think the more I play with them the more I will mature out on the pitch”. We played 0-0 at Leicester, but we had two or three opportunities. “Physically, and maybe technically, it’s easier to play 11 against 10, but mentally it’s more hard”.

“I believe that, when we lost our first game [at home to Liverpool], it was a mental shock for us and for our supporters”.

“But we had a very hard game against Southampton last week, went away to Paris St Germain”.

Arsene Wenger has suggested that Arsenal’s victory at Hull City this weekend proves that his side are ready to challenge for the Premier League title.

Raiola, who represents the likes of Mario Balotelli, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is not convinced that, although the London club has money to spend, they have the “balls” to do so. I know where I want to go and what I want to do.

“He is 20 years old, and I think he has talent, he has ambition, he has a big passion for the game and until now he has humility.

He has gained in confidence now and has gained power”. “It’s interesting what he has done”. The midfielder-cum-defender was perhaps harshly sent off and Arsenal capitalised 10 minutes after half-time, with Theo Walcott collecting a clever flick by the impressive Iwobi to clip home. Mike Phelan, still only in caretaker charge of Hull despite winning August’s manager of the month award, stuck with the same starting line-up that had served him so well this term, while Petr Cech and Walcott came in for the visitors.

Paul Pogba’s controversial agent Mino Raiola has questioned whether or not Premier League side Arsenal will ever make a world record signing. We may see Xhaka playing a bit more defensively and then Santi can have the ball and make his runs and the passes towards flanks.

“I think Jake was probably on the half turn at the same time, so the referee deemed it deliberate handball, which is a red card”.

“It’s a case of sitting down and sifting through a detailed contract”, Phelan said.
