Izzy Bizu, Jack Garratt and Frances up for BRIT Critics’ Choice Award

Adele, James Bay, Sam Smith, Florence + The Machine are all previous winners of the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award, it’s fair to say, they’re a big deal.

The three shortlisted acts for the Brits 2016 critics’ choice award have been announced, with Frances, Izzy Bizu and Jack Garratt taking the final places.

Three new music acts are hoping to follow in the footsteps of Adele after being named on this year’s Brits critics’ choice short list.

“I grew up watching the Brits on the TV at home so it’s pretty exciting to be a part of it!” she said.

Frances – “It’s such a huge honour to be nominated for the Critics’ Choice Award”.

Izzy Bizu, pianist Frances and soul singer Jack Garratt have been nominated for this year’s BRITS Critics’ Choice Awards.

“I’ve followed the Brits my whole life, but never thought I’d be lucky enough to be nominated”.

Singer-songwriter Frances has already collaborated with Disclosure and covered Justin Bieber on on Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Adele WILL perform at Brit Awards after bosses made her an unbelievable supply Fellow nominee Jack is heading on the street with Mumford * Sons this month, & he added in that the prize “highlights the importance of new music”. “An fantastic feeling. Not only have previous winners enjoyed incredible domestic success but also global acclaim and collectively, the winners, to date, have sold in excess of 21 million albums worldwide. The overall victor, who will probably be forced to spend 2016 shifting a stack load of records (no, you’re wrong, James Bay’s album has gone platinum), will be announced this Friday.

The Award is open to artists signed to a label who are set to release their debut albums in 2016 and over 100 artists from a range of genres were considered for this year’s shortlist.

We’ll find out on 24 February, when the ceremony will be broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena.
