Back in April, legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest announced they were celebrating the 25th anniversary of People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths Of Rhythm with a reissue album featuring remixes by this generation’s hottest artists. It’s the first release of a planned slew of classic ATCQ albums, according to Rolling Stone magazine. J. Cole’s remix of “Can I Kick It? will be featured as well as Cee-Lo’s do-over of “Footprints” and Pharrell’s remake of “Bonita Applebum”. But to see it in this incarnation …

People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm 25th Anniversary Edition is out November 13, pre-order your download on iTunes now. Their songs abandoned the genre’s traditional tropes of macho posturing, focussing instead on philosophy and issues such as date rape and black consciousness. Before this most recent upcoming announcement, they last performed at festivals during 2013 between Europe and the USA and finally claiming their last show in November as a supporting act for Kanye West’s The Yeezus Tour.
