J. Cole Weds College Sweetheart

But on Monday, the rapper sat down with Ryan Coogler during a live-streamed interview for Martin Luther King Day as a part of #MLKNow.

I guess light-skinned Jermaine wanted to make his relationship official and give the now Mrs. Cole the security he rapped about her longing for on Born Sinner’s “Sparks Will Fly”.

He didn’t want to admit it, but J. Cole is a married man.

However, J – who is believed to have proposed to Melissa previous year – insisted that he forgave him, saying: “That was like one thing to not do”.

To which Cole, we’re not really sure what emotions were running through his head, responded, “Well, they know now”.

While it’s unclear when J. Cole and Melissa actually tied the knot, it wasn’t incredibly shocking to hear of their marriage. “That was like the one thing to not do”. News, the pair dated through college and have been together 10 years. Not surprisingly, though, Ryan didn’t proceed to ask any more wedding questions!

From Cole’s reaction it was obvious that the news was supposed to remain a secret but he handled it with jokes.

Coogler admitted he never interviewed anyone before and didn’t know if personal questions were off-limits or if Cole being married was even a secret.
