J.J. Watt Injury Update: Texans DE Announces Date for Groin Surgery
They finished off Houston early and had the hometown fans booing by the second quarter.

It was a rough day for Texans Quarterback, Brian Hoyer. Eventually, Houston broke down, especially when defensive end J.J. Watt broke down in the third quarter with an injury.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have won 11 straight games dating back to a 23-13 win over Pittsburgh on October 26.
“We wanted to come in and dominate”, safety Eric Berry said. “I know for a fact we’ve got to fix something”. It was the first postseason win for the Chiefs since 1994.
Knile Davis put Kansas City ahead just 11 seconds into the game by returning the opening kickoff 106 yards.
Late in the first quarter and with the Chiefs holding a 7-0 lead, Hoyer dropped back to pass and didn’t have much time before his own lineman was shoved back into him and the ball popped loose.
“Not 100 percent sure, but we’ll get it diagnosed tomorrow and I’ll have surgery on Tuesday and take it from there”, Watt said. Despite his poor performance, coach Bill O’Brien insisted on keeping Hoyer under center instead of inserting backup Brandon Weeden. “I didn’t know what was going on behind me, all I know is I had to finish the play”.
The Chiefs would continue to get the ball down the field on the drive, and Alex Smith hit Maclin’s replacement, rookie Chris Conley for the touchdown to give the Chiefs a 20-0 lead.
Will the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominant defense or veteran quarterback Tom Brady and his offense have the advantage in this showdown? That team was led by Joe Montana and Marcus Allen. “And the job they’ve done there, the accomplishments they’ve had, they’ve made history”, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “It’s one of those things where if you got (Watt) down you better keep him down”.
Hoyer was 15 of 34 for 136 yards as Houston (9-8) lost a home playoff game for the first time. He had been battling a groin injury throughout the game. “But the injury was before that moment”. This followed a 2014 season in which he was only able to play in four games as he tried to work through a lateral meniscus tear he suffered in Week 1.

However, the Chiefs’ first National Football League playoff win since 1993 came at a cost with receiver Jeremy Maclin facing an MRI exam on an injured right knee.
