J&K attack on CRPF men an act of frustration: Parrikar
India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel attend a wreath laying ceremony of their colleagues, who were killed in a militant attack on a CRPF convoy on Saturday, in Humhama, on the outskirts of Srinagar, June 26, 2016.

“Almost all militants killed from past three days were affiliated to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) a militant outfit”, an official said.
DIG (South Kashmir), Nitish Kumar said that the brief but intensive attack could also be a suicide attack as the militants chose a spot for the attack from which they could not have escaped.
The National Conference on Sunday launched an attack against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for allegedly saying that she was “ashamed as a Muslim over the Pampore attack”, reported NDTV.
Security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra were also discussed in the meeting for its peaceful and smooth conduct.
The CRPF chief said the force has also ordered 20 brand new modern MPVs from the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) that will be deployed in some of the most hard Maoist-violence hit areas.
“At the same time, we are deeply pained by the loss of our eight CRPF men, who got martyred during the attack”, he added.
This is the third terrorist attack on security personnel this month in Kashmir valley, but the biggest in terms of military casualty. “I call upon Indian youth to stand up to face such forces and we should greet and welcome the bravery of our security people and the way they are working with such valour and courage”, said Singh at a public event in Punjab. Such an act only defames Kashmir.
CONDEMNING the terrorist attack on a CRPF bus near Pampore in J&K a day earlier, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday said it is an act of frustration and assured the Government will deal with such incidents strongly. “They then tried to storm the bus, but were stopped due to strong retaliation from our men”, said a senior CRPF officer from Kashmir.
On infiltration of militants from across the Line of Control, the DGP said while “some infiltration has taken place, JK police and security forces are all prepared and geared up to handle any sort of situation”. “If need arises, we could bring in more”, said CRPF Director General K Durga Prasad.
