Jürgen Klopp On “Serious Pain” and Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, has expressed satisfaction with his side after progressing to the Europa League knock out stage with a 2-1 victory over French Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux on Thursday night.

During his press conference today ahead of the weekend’s Premier League fixture with Swansea, Jurgen Klopp has called on Sturridge to assess the pain he is feeling if he ever wants to beat his constant string of injury problems. “What you need in this time is training and with Danny you have to learn to adapt to new intensity of training and you have to learn what is serious pain and what is only pain”. Usually, if you are not the quality of Daniel, nobody would think to bring him back onto the pitch after this short time. “But we all know the road is never ideal, so we have to try out best, and see”. It will come as a big blow to Sturridge following his recovery from a knee injury, which has restricted him to just three appearances all season.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson suffered a fractured foot during a training session in mid-September, but the Reds skipper is finally nearing a return to action.

“I am waiting for him, that is what I told him”.

Klopp said: “We are in a good position at this moment but in football you solve one problem and the next second you have another one”.

“There can be a price to pay when you play in a number of different competitions and that has cost us before”.

“If he is in this shape we can use him and he can help us”.

Henderson is yet to play under new boss Jurgen Klopp following his appointment in October but that’s set to change over the coming weeks.

Post Suarez, Liverpool have often lacked the cutting edge that a healthy Daniel Sturridge is more than capable of providing. “We will have to decide”, he said.

Yes, he gives charming interviews with young Liverpool fans but I fully expect to see him go absolutely ape-s**t very soon.

Confidence is obviously high after that result and Lovren insists he was not shaken by the loss to Palace earlier this month: “After the game against Chelsea [which they won 3-1], we already felt we had the confidence”, the defender said.
