Jürgen Klopp wants Liverpool to be ‘angry’ against Hull

As is the case with many lower table sides, Hull’s strategy will be to go for a draw rather than a victory against a dynamic attacking team such as Liverpool.

Mike Phelan and Hull have already shown their resilience against top teams as they beat Leicester City and managed to shut off Manchester United before the Red Devils claimed a stoppage-time victor.

Liverpool are unbeaten against Hull at home and the visitors have only won twice in 20 matches against their opponents, but are yet to lose away from home this season. Not really so give him a home game for example. I’m pleased but until now we did what we think was the minimum what we should have done.

“It’s how we want to play”. But, the performance looks encouraging and it appears the players are responding well to Mike Phelan’s managerial tactics. What is important though, is this side shaking the consistently inconsistent label that’s plagued them for the past couple of years and as much as picking up three-points on Saturday will help that, it’ll still be some time before we can come up with something quite so catchy. We are still working on that.

The summer additions of players of the calibre of Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum has dramatically improved the efficacy with which the senior squad are capable of implementing Klopp’s physically demanding tactical system and it is hard to see a Hull team who were beaten so easily at home against Arsenal last weekend halting their progress.

Ojo and Joe Gomez are still out and due back next month. [It is] great to see [Danny] Ings out there.

“The style might change slightly with a different type of player but it definitely doesn’t get any weaker, and I think that’s a positive thing”.

“With the training we’re doing and people performing day in, day out, it puts a lot of pressure on the manager”.

The Reds boss told reporters that whoever he selects against doesn’t mean they will remain in goal “for the next five years” and declared himself “really happy” with both goalkeepers, insisting his decision will be the best suited player for the team against Hull, rather than a comparison between the two.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not made a final decision on which goalkeeper to choose for Saturday's visit of Hull
