Jack Del Rio cites ‘eye violations’ as reason for Raiders’ defensive struggles

Ever since that NFC championship run that year, the Falcons have fallen into mediocrity and have never been able to recover since then. On Sunday, he almost went for 400 yards, hitting nine different players for completions.

The Atlanta Falcons will travel to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday for a big Week 2 clash in the National Football League 2016 regular season.

The rookie safety will make his defensive debut Sunday against the Titans, one of the first changes that Del Rio will make to a defense that has allowed 1,035 yards in the first two games.

“A thousand yards? Wow”, said the All-Pro defensive end, Khalil Mack. The Falcons failed to sack Winston last week and won’t get to Carr this week. I like Woodhead more this week as a No. 2 running back.

It was a reversal of fortune on Sunday, as Atlanta was the better team throughout.

“All of our running backs are pretty good”, Del Rio said. The Raiders coaching staff, meanwhile, yanked middle linebacker Ben Heeney on Atlanta’s last couple of possessions.

“That’s embarrassing”, linebacker Malcolm Smith said of the number after the game. Last week, it was the Saints’ Brandin Cooks who torched him. The Oakland defense looks bad after two weeks, but aside from a couple of missed throws and that pick, Ryan really does look genuinely improved this season.

After welcoming several marquee free agents into the fold and adding to the unit in the first three rounds of the draft, the Raiders defense was expected to be vastly improved in 2016.

JD: It looks like it’s going to take Dak Prescott a little while to get comfortable on the big stage. The Falcon runners gained 139.

Like last week, this game has all the makings of a high scoring battle.

“I think those types of things or discussions are not really part of this wrap-up right now today”, Del Rio said. “If you need someone to blame, blame the head coach”. We all share in it. He threw three touchdowns in the game, and now has five touchdowns to only one pick this season. I have the utmost belief in this group of guys. “We just simply have to close it and close that up, and we will”. In Oakland, Ryan used his tight ends to help the offense make big plays, including Tamme’s catch in the end zone to give the Falcons a 21-14 lead (after Ryan’s successful 2-point conversion).

To their credit, the Oakland Raiders attempted some late game heroics in order to try to get the victory.

The Falcons, after a slow start, scored on three consecutive red-zone possessions to open a double-digit lead with 4:35 left to play. The ball shot into the air line Old Faithful and came down to Falcon receiver Justin Hardy, who took the dirty trick into the end zone.

The Raiders (1-1) appeared to have tied the game on the next drive when Amari Cooper caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr.

But as they say in “Star Trek”, those two things were anomalies.

I don’t know how many more good wins this team has in them, and neither do you. “It’s a shame. It’s a hurtful feeling”. Enjoy watching with DVR controls so you can fast-forward or rewind, or use the search feature to jump directly to any play.
