Jack Wilshere confident Bournemouth move was right choice

British media reported that Chelsea were on the verge of paying the highest fee of the day – in excess of 30 million pounds – to take Brazilian defender David Luiz back to Stamford Bridge from Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “I think this is the past [his previous three trophies won with Chelsea], I need to win again”.

In late deals, Brazil defender Luiz returned after two years at Paris Saint-Germain, while France midfielder Moussa Sissoko left Newcastle United for Tottenham Hotspur.

“There was a bit of panic towards the end but I’ll give them a B+ because they did one thing they needed to and that’s sign a centre-half”.

This has seen Chelsea bring Luiz back to the club.

The Blues haven’t disclosed the fee but the Guardian claim they’ve paid PSG £34m – although other outlets suggest it’s somewhere between £30m-£32m – but either way I’m sure Luiz will turn out to be a very popular signing among the Blues fanbase.

It was a busy final day of player trading for Premier League clubs, who have collectively spent more than 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion) for the first time in a transfer window – almost 1.2 billion pounds ($1.5 billion) total by the close of play – as they reinvest their new bumper television windfalls.

“We would never promise game-time to a player but I expect with Jack’s quality, if he’s fit he’ll be in the team”.

Speaking shortly after signing his five-year contract, a joyful Alonso expressed how easy it was to make the decision to join the Blues. “I love this club so that is why I am here”, he said.

Manchester City’s clear-out after an offseason of heavy spending was in full flow Wednesday, with Joe Hart, Wilfried Bony and Samir Nasri sent out on loan as new coach Pep Guardiola attempted to streamline his squad on the final day of transfer window.

The wayward Italy forward scored just four goals in 28 appearances for Liverpool and spent last season on loan at AC Milan.

In addition, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere had to accept moving to a less prestigious club on Wednesday, heading to Bournemouth on the English Riviera for the season in a bid to revive his injury-plagued career.
