Jack Wilshere joins Bournemouth on loan

While Wenger is a big fan of Wilshere, the Arsenal manager also knows if the midfielder is to fulfill his potential, he needs to be playing 90 minutes of football regularly.

AS Roma were considered to be strong favourites to land Wilshere for most of deadline day, but BBC have now revealed that Arsenal blocked the move to Rome because the Romans had blocked their deal for Kostas Manolas.

“Jack is a fantastic addition to the club”, said Bournemouth’s chief executive Neill Blake.

“He is a player our supporters will be excited to see in a Bournemouth shirt”.

Wilshere made his Arsenal debut at the age of 16 and has shown electrifying form for both the Gunners and England at times, but injuries have hampered his career and he missed almost all of last season with a broken ankle.

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that Jack Wilshere has completed a sensational move away from the club on deadline day after securing a season-long loan deal with Bournemouth.

The England midfielder will bid to rebuild his career on the South Coast with Eddie Howe’s team. They tried again this transfer window, as their long pursuit of Shkodran Mustafi often looked like it was on the brink of failure.

Chelsea loaned Juan Cuadrado back to Juventus for three years, Gokhan Inler left Leicester for Besiktas, and Serge Gnabry departed Arsenal for Werder Bremen.

Their sporting director Frank Baumann spoke on Tuesday of his confidence the winger’s arrival was imminent, and after the signing was confirmed said: “We are delighted that Serge has made a decision to sign for us, even though he had a number of different options”.
