Bournemouth have signed England midfielder Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

No fewer than 22 clubs from England, Spain and Italy have put in loan bids for Wilshere as Arsene Wenger tries to get the 24-year-old some first-team football.

This week however he became available as a loan option and whilst over 20 clubs reportedly made an approach, it came down to AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Roma and AC Milan.

“He is a player that needs no introduction and one that, quite rightly, our supporters will be excited to see in a Bournemouth shirt”.

Wilshere has been closely linked with rival Premier League moves but the North London based outfit reportedly want the England worldwide to move abroad and gain experience in a league overseas.

Jack Wilshere hopes his loan move to Bournemouth can help him “develop” as a player after being deemed surplus to requirements at Arsenal.

“After the injury to Max Kruse we needed to make additions, and we are very pleased we have found a player with the quality to further improve our squad”.

The 24-year-old had dropped down the pecking order under Wenger amid injury problems, missing almost all of last season with a broken ankle. He had dropped down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and was unlikely to be a regular member of the starting XI, with Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla and Mohamed Elneny ahead of him for a midfield role.

Serge Gnabry has completed his transfer from Arsenal to Werder Bremen as Jack Wilshere considers where to spend the remainder of the season.

It is understood Wilshere and his representatives met Palace boss Alan Pardew on Tuesday afternoon and Cherries manager Eddie Howe in the evening.

“It is a question of game time and the contribution he is making to Arsenal and he is not doing that at the moment, so I left him out”.
