Hurns was injured late in Sunday’s 31-25 loss to San Diego at EverBank Field. His third touchdown pass of the day put him past Joe Montana in the all-time passing touchdown list. Marcus Mariota completed 17 of 37 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions. Kicker Jason Myers, who had four field goals on the day, struggled a bit with the onside trey, as he sent it toward the sideline and never really gave the Jaguars a chance to make a play.

Allen Hurns, the Jaguars’ second-year wide receiver, sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter against San Diego. Hurns went down to attempt a diving catch and landed awkwardly, with his neck being jammed. The wide receiver gave thumbs-up to the crowd on his way off the field before being taken to the hospital and later tweeted out that he’ll “be okay”. The Chargers had lost six straight in 2011 before traveling cross country and beating Jacksonville 38-14.
Maybe playing the woeful Chargers (2-8) will help end the trend. It’s not who you play, it’s when you play them and there were plenty of teams that had remarkable turnarounds in Week 12.
With Houston and Indianapolis both winning, the Jags lost ground in the muddled AFC South.
