Jags’ Bortles awaits chance ‘to show that wasn’t who we are’
He simply wasn’t the same quarterback the rest of the game. Bortles played well in the first 30 minutes, actually outplaying his counterpart, Cam Newton.

Olson pointed out that Bortles had a passer rating of 89.8 at halftime.
Quarterback Blake Bortles was impeccable in the preseason. Three of his rushes were for 11 yards or more. Bortles’ numbers were awful .
There is some truth to what Bortles was awkwardly trying to say, which is play-calling isn’t easy and is complicated, and most fans aren’t privy to all the information that goes into a particular play call or overall strategy.
“Mentally, guys were unbelievable”, Bortles said. “That’s what we expect of ourselves and anything less than that is a letdown”. There was never an issue where we went three straight practices and the defense had completely dominated us or in the preseason where we really struggled to move the ball.
Q: Why are the Jaguars not making a run at an experienced receiver?
The Redskins didn’t have much luck passing against the Dolphins last Sunday. The sheet showed 48 drop backs, and only 18 scripted run plays. He was asked about it again this week and how he handles the situation when the receivers are dropping the ball.
“They’re not yelling at me when I throw a ball 5 yards over their head out of bounds, so I’m not going to do the same thing to them when they drop a pass”, Bortles said.
The Jaguars managed 75 yards in the second half. For starters, he picked off Blake Bortles and returned it to the house. Young started six games a year ago at the right tackle spot. “I have all of the faith in the world in Sam Young”. I think Hurns didn’t like that too well. It’s an opportunity for him to step up and I’m excited for him.
“I can’t even describe it to you”, said Norman. “For me, I have a little bit of that feeling”. We hope you enjoy it. Plugging an outsider into the Jaguars offense at this point is something that has many layers to it and does not seem very beneficial to the team. “We didn’t capture the moment and didn’t get a chance to overcome that adversity”.
