Jaguar Land Rover pushes diesel in the US

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible production model which is scheduled to make its world premiere in November 2015 has been teased in the form of six vibrantly colored 1:1 wireframe sculptures.

Thoughtful types that we are, Top Gear pointed this out to the good souls at Land Rover. It accurately outlines the shape of the auto and it also includes 3D wheels and the front and rear seats.

Next up in JLR’s USA diesel portfolio are the additions of 2.0L turbodiesel I-4s in the Range Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque CUVs, as well as in the Jaguar XE and XF sedans, and the F-Pace CUV, all by the end of 2017.

Going by the available images, it’s nearly certain that the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will feature a nearly identical design and engine range to the standard model, but few official details are known.

Volkswagen’s admitted cheat is also delivering collateral damage across the industry in raising suspicions about the diesel technology and regulators in the United States and around the world are looking forward at modifying their testing methods.

Locations chosen for the exercise, which echoed the launch of the original Evoque in 2013, included the Harrods department store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge and notable Mayfair addresses. Besides, the Land Rover is also offered in a wide range of variants including petrol, diesel and hybrid models with electric motors. Inside, the concept had contrasting “Lunar” and “Ivory” leather upholstery, along with a Meridian sound system and Land Rover’s Dual View monitor. At the same time, they don’t give too much away on the looks of the new Evoque Cabriolet, even though I think we all know what to expect.
