For Bond fans watching the film at Cine Prestige at Cavendish in Cape Town over the opening weekend, look out for Photo Bomb to capture a 007-styled selfie.
The chain said box office takings in the key United Kingdom and Ireland market lifted 10.1% in the period.
Sony Pictures India released the film exclusively in 2K digital format in 1,250 screens (the largest 2D Hollywood release ever) in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu – and in 2D and IMAX formats. It was also released in an IMAX format.
This boosted Cineworld’s admissions growth, which has risen in all territories except Slovakia in the 46 weeks to November 19. The film was hugely anticipated and the masala actioner has connected with audiences across India. Bond films have failed to make much of a mark with the Indian audience – a trend that is often reflected in the box office collections. That’s admittedly $20 million less than its predecessor, but when you beat James Bond by over $80 million, that ain’t too bad.

The duration of some of the kissing scenes in the movie were deemed too long by the censor board which ordered them to be shortened. James Bond Spectre video is going very well and all of the enthusiasts of Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci are now enjoying the video repeatedly due to their routines.
