James Corden carpools with Chewbacca mum – and it is fantastic
Candace Payne never thought a simple post to Facebook would reach over 81 million views in a matter of hours. The video progresses using Payne’s words, “I’m just a happy Chewbacca“, “Oh this is worth every dollar” and “Now I’m gonna let Chewbacca talk” and her genuine moments of laughter to create this high-pitched contagious song.

Since Payne took to Facebook to share the joy of her birthday present (to herself!), the family has been gifted with tons of toys!
More than 137 million people have watched a Texas mom try on a Chewbacca mask in a Kohl’s parking lot and try not to laugh. While looking for yoga trousers, Payne stumbled upon the now famous mask in a Kohl’s department store.
Kohl’s representatives went to Candace Payne’s Texas home and surprised her with gifts that included Chewbacca masks.
In a video posted late on Monday night, mum Candace is still ecstatic about her Star Wars purchase. This is the reaction I wish more people, including myself, would have to the things they buy.
Candace Payne’s viral video ticked all the boxes of an extremely effective viral branding campaign-she was relatable, she mentioned (and appreciated) Kohl’s, and, above all, it was spontaneous and authentic. NPR’s Rachel Martin said she was “literally weeping, she was laughing so hard” herself when she watched the video.
In the video she explains, “I’d like to say that I bought this for my son but at the end of the day it’s mine and I’m gonna keep it for my own!”
“We want to thank you for being a loyal Kohl’s shopper”, he says.

After James criticises her for not sounding like the actual furry creature, critically-acclaimed J.J. pops up from the back seat, saying: “I think it’s an excellent Chewbacca”. Corden also shared a video of Abrams showing up to blow Payne’s mind and record the sketch. I had to tell someone I had to be in hair and makeup and I don’t even know what that means!
