James Corden dismisses talk of a feud with Stephen Colbert as ‘silly’

The kids – who were like 18 or 19 according to James were big fans of Carpool Karaoke, and they wanted to film their own with Corden. During his debut appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” last June, the 37-year-old English host denied that there were plans to switch the time slots of the two shows.

While James Corden’s Late Late Show picked up nods for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Interactive Program, Stephen Colbert and his Late Show were shut out completely. “You just never think that it would be something that would get watched so many times”.

Corden went on with his story, saying, “I was like, ‘Am I being kidnapped?'”

We love us some Carpool Karaoke!

Do you think CBS should switch the timeslots of the two shows?

So even though the nightly ratings for Corden’s show are roughly the equivalent of his predecessor, Craig Ferguson, his popularity across platforms is likely what will elevate him into the earlier time slot. “I just find the notion of talking about time slots to be something archaic really”.

There’s probably a very important lesson we could take from this, but we’re too busy searching for footage of James being bundled into a vehicle then singing along to the radio with four strangers. “It kind of feels like telling the time with a sundial”, he shares. My son when he grows up, he’s not going to have any notion of scheduling or something being on at a certain time.

“Our show’s on 24 hours a day as far as I’m concerned”.

The Gavin & Stacey star who has found fame in the United States as the host of The Late Show has become one of the best-known drivers in the world thanks to his Carpool Karaoke spot when he takes celebrities for a spin and a song. We just launch it at 12:37. I couldn’t tell you how many people watch our show. “But [the rumor] doesn’t jibe with what I know about our show, so you recover”.
