James Harden calls out ‘super-team’ strategy in letter to fans

Of course, the NBA’s biggest offseason move involved the Warriors signing Kevin Durant to a two-year contract.

Harden signed a new $118.1 million contract extension which ensures that the perennial all-star would stay in Texas until the 2019-20 season.

This isn’t the first jab Harden took at the Warriors recently.

“Obviously the Warriors are a really good team”, he said during the press conference according to USA Today. In those four games, the Warriors were 3-1.

James Harden is not a fan of the Golden State Warriors.

When things like that happen, you have to try and change the narrative, and if you can get a subtle dig in at the competition, that just counts for bonus points.

As long as the hard work Harden referred to includes when the other team has the ball, an area D’Antonio teams typically don’t excel in, the Rockets should be be much improved this season and have a better chance of reaching their goal. His teams have also never posted a losing record and have won 50-plus games four times.

“There will be challenges along the way but we will continue to fight”, he wrote.

Is Harden bitter that Durant refused to meet his team in free agency?

The growing trend in the National Basketball Association seems to be building a super team if you can, as Golden State has just done in adding Kevin Durant to its already potent offense featuring Steph Curry. “We are not a ‘super-team, ‘ but just a group of guys that want to work hard to be the very best”, Harden added, taking apparent aim at Golden State and any other franchise looking to build a victor overnight through free agency. With the commitment of Harden and the additions of Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, Houston will play a completely different brand of basketball under Mike D’Antoni. The Rockets only beat the Warriors once last season, and that was by one mere point.
