The Houston Rockets might start the season with one man down. James Harden apparently walked off the court and signed a few autographs after the game. Harden’s new backcourt partner, Lawson averaged 15.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 9.6 assists in 75 regular season games for the Nuggets.

Also available for the Rockets this season are key bench players including Donatas Motiejunas, who will back-up the forward spots; Corey Brewer, who will spell Ariza at the 3-spot or even the 2-guard spot; and veteran guard Marcus Thornton. Coach Kevin McHale said after the game that he didn’t have any more information on Harden’s injury.

Harden suffered the injury while on defense during a fastbreak. He was supposed to sit out the second game against the Dallas Mavericks last week but had asked to play. Unfortunately, the Rockets weren’t able to give the Vipers fans a win, falling to 123-119 to the Magic.

“I pride myself on creating opportunities to score for my team”. “So that’s what my offseason has been all about – better conditioning and better preparation for this time”.
