James McCarthy facing three more weeks out for Everton FC
Moussa Sissoko chose to join Tottenham over Everton. “He can play like a nine or a 10 and they are good options to have”.

“I think it is overall a hard time, because if you see what happened on the last day, clubs signing players, doing big transfers – you can ask why today, why not three weeks ago?”
The 26-year-old from Ecuador moved to Goodison Park on Deadline Day and Koeman added: “Valencia was interested in coming to Everton, we were interested in him and already, earlier on, he was one of the options to get in a new front player”. You don’t always get what you like to have and that was not in our hands.
“I’m very happy with my squad”, Koeman said.
Whilst the Toffees did end up signing West Ham attacker Enner Valencia on loan, Sissoko’s snub capped off a disappointing deadline for Everton, and fans were a little underwhelmed after missing out on a number of other transfer targets too.
“Enner Valencia will bring more competition”.
“Then, finally, everyone knows what happened”.
“I expect a lot”, Koeman said via the Mail. He was the player for us that we needed at the moment – then the picture was totally ideal.
And the Republic of Ireland worldwide is now set to miss Monday’s trip to Sunderland as part of a three-week lay off from the problem.
And Koeman, who left Southampton to take charge at Everton in June, is pleased with how things have been shaping up so far during his tenure. “Our challenge is to reach Europe and if we do that, we will be able to attract more players”.

One player who will not be involved in the game on Wearside is Coleman’s club and global team-mate James McCarthy, with Koeman having revealed the midfielder has undergone surgery on his groin and is set to be out for three weeks.
