Britain’s Jamie Murray ensured at least one Murray brother will be in a final at Wimbledon by winning in the semi-finals of the men’s doubles. He’s been feeling confident.
“I think all the hard work we’ve put in is paying off”, Murray said.
“Being on Centre again was great but it was a weird match, it was a weird atmosphere because Johnny was clearly injured”.
Erlich’s knee was strapped up and hindered his movement, with the injury pre-dating the start of the match.
“It’s a odd one to be faced with that”.
This year’s Wimbledon tournament has had its fair share of moments, from Federer’s effortless through-the-legs shot to the back of the court to Djokovic’s less impressive rant at a ball girl. “It kind of always felt we were going to find a way if we kind of kept at it”.
“I’ve spent most of my life that way”, he said. I’ve been coming here so many times, have reached quarter and semi-finals, but never had the opportunity to play, be it due to rain delays or whatever. That’s how it goes. But to tell you the truth, I came to the court not knowing what to expect.
Peers, 26, added: “It is like a marriage, you spend that much time together”.
She also had words of encouragement for 21-year-old Muguruza, who cried as she received a standing ovation from the Centre Court crowd.
The duo struggled for consistency against Tecau and Rojer, who boast seven major doubles finals between them and deserved their victory.

Scratching a living on the Challenger circuit is a lonely existence but is all the more isolating as a doubles specialist, a format generally seen as a sideshow to the main event. He and Andy beat Erlich and Petzschner 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-2.
