Jamie Vardy: Arsenal bid for Leicester City striker meets release clause

According to Chapman’s agent, James Austin, he has been deeply upset by the Vardy family’s reaction and has considered ending his role as the footballer’s doppelganger.

His goals spurred Leicester to a stunning Premier League title success and reportedly have attracted Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to launch an early-summer bid for the 29-year-old frontman.

However, according to The Sun, the pair’s relationship has now turned sour.

It is possible that Leicester will now offer Vardy another new contract to try to persuade him to remain at the King Power Stadium.

And Arsenal legend Wright used his personal Twitter account to urge his former employers to consider making a move for Vardy during the summer transfer window. “But if anything happens to anybody, whether you are a sports person or a movie star, you have to be protected”.

“I’m so proud of him and of what he’s achieved, but most of all, I’m proud of the man he is”, she said.

Chapman hailed Vardy as “down-to-earth” and “normal” on the day of his meeting with the players and told The Independent how he had managed to join them on board the team bus.

“I could understand if he was posting things as Jamie Vardy, or running up a bar bill, but he hasn’t done anything like that”. “He’s just a down-to-earth, normal guy, like me”. But for now, at least Arsenal fans can hold out hope that the Vardy Party could be coming to London.
