Jamie Vardy breaks Premier League goal scoring record

The veteran Germany star powered home a header from a corner to cancel out Jamie Vardy’s strike as United earned a 1-1 draw against high-flying Leicester, but the midfielder was upset United didn’t take all three points.

Ruud van Nistelrooy: “Well done, Jamie Vardy”. “I have the feeling we could have won this match”. He also appears regularly on numerous television and radio talk shows all across the country.

“We can not give that goal away”.

“In the first half, we didn’t dominate as much as we did in the second half”. I wanted to change one of the strikers. With Rooney and Martial looking as though they are playing entirely different games, the pair need to find a way to become more effective alongside one another.

But the fixture was all about Vardy, who took until just the 24th minute to produce the historic goal that the Leicester faithful, and many neutrals, were hoping for.

“Amazing and fantastic”, he said.

“The goal he scored is also incredible because it is not so easy”. “I know what type of player he is”. “We are in a relegation fight, no doubt about that, but we have to work hard on the training field”. He has scored three times in three appearances since returning from a two-month injury layoff. Despite their fitness concerns, Schweinsteiger refused to use that as an excuse for their poor performance against Leicester insisting that injuries are a part of football.

Speculation as to whether Vardy would claim the record outright had been rife since he equalled it in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United and he said that he done his best to block it out. It’s the way I play and, if I have to play through it sometimes, that’s what I’ll do.

In fact, they’ve been one of the dullest teams in the league, even if they do keep picking up points consistently.

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy set an English Premier League record on Saturday by scoring for the 11th straight game. The left-back charged down the right wing, covering a good 50m, and played the ball in behind the United defence. He was playing non-league football only four seasons ago, and wasn’t a regular for Leicester last season.

Asked whether United should be happy with a point against Ranieri’s high-flying side, Schweinsteiger added: “Why?” So, in the second half, I was waiting on our goal but it didn’t come. For our honour, it’s important; for our project, it’s very important. However, Leicester City are said to have stamped a £30 million price-tag over his head to ward-off interest from the likes of Chelsea FC and Manchester United. “We have been a bit nervous till the third aim, however I’m proud of the efficiency and the end result”. “He did well to break the record”.
