Jamie Vardy explains why he made a decision to snub a move to Arsenal

Arsenal have a talented squad, and it is easy to forget that Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck were all absent against Liverpool due to fitness issues.

The 25-year-old suffered “significant cartilage damage”, which ended his Euro 2016 hopes, but Arsenal manager Wenger said the Englishman is nearing a December return. But they came up against an equally hard-working Arsenal outfit. We tried to win but sometimes it’s impossible. “So I don’t think there’s a problem to attract players”.

But Wenger feels he can still tempt players to sign for a club which have not won the Premier League in 12 years. He’s [Henry] one of them. “It’s not so hard to attract players”.

Arsenal knew that they would be without Koscielny for some of August, although Wenger said he is “close” to being ready to face Leicester City this weekend.

However, Wenger revealed he could opt to take a risk on the players: “Maybe I will take a gamble on bringing them back early but I have 48 hours to decide that”. I think this club has been built on that.

The problem is that Valencia want £ 30million for the Germany worldwide and Wenger is reluctant to pay that much. “We try to make the right decisions, it’s as simple as that”. What I fight against is to tell the only way is to buy.

“I find it sad that we are not talking about Rob Holding’s performance because he did not cost £55 million”.

The rumours surrounding Mahrez obviously did not help the Foxes (and about Vardy in the last few months), but now that both of them have signed new deals, it remains to be seen if the champions can bounce back.

The failure to land the 24-year-old German worldwide has has prompted suggestions that the London club are unwilling to match the spending commitments of their Premier League rivals.

“Something that drives me insane is that it looks like players don’t want to come to Arsenal”, stated Gunners legend Henry earlier this week.

“I don’t want to talk about the decisions”, said City boss Claudio Ranieri.
