Jamie Vardy scores for 11th Premier League match in a row
Jamie Vardy became the first player to score in 11 straight English Premier League games in helping Leicester draw 1-1 with Manchester United, capping a frenzied day of goals and drama that ended with Manchester City back in first place.

His passion, influence and the game saving goal, made Schweinsteiger player of the match for United.
One level was not sufficient for Leicester to maintain their one-week previous Premier League lead as Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Southampton took them top on aim distinction.
All the United players also congratulated Vardy at the final whistle and Ranieri said United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger had likened Vardy to former Germany worldwide Miroslav Klose.
Yet despite his truly remarkable achievement, Vardy is refusing to get carried away. And looking at their passing map, one sees a lot of long, direct, forward passes (even though a large number are unsuccessful).
De Bruyne’s corner in the 20th minute allowed Delph to crown his first league start for City with his first goal for the club, a 25-yard shot that deflected in off Virgil van Dijk. “But I am not so happy because we are Manchester United and if you want to win something, you have to win at Leicester. We didn’t play well”.
“It’s just another game that we wanted to try and get three points in”.
“Leicester had a few breaks and were quick on the counter-attack, there was always that threat and we had to deal with it. But apart from their goal, I felt that we were in control”.
The goal boosted United and took a degree of intensity out of Leicester’s play after the break and, having scored his first, Schweinsteiger came close to his second in United colours, only for Schmeichel to expertly keep out his header on 49 minutes.
He added: “I don’t think he is injured for the next match”. But Rooney looks a million miles away from going on the type of goalscoring run Jamie Vardy is enjoying. His game included 86% pass accuracy, three interceptions, nine clearances and 60% of his aerial duels were won.
However, Sunderland’s northeast of England rivals Newcastle suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat at Crystal Palace. “That is hard to cope with because we could have been first in the league and now we are not”.
There was a dramatic finish at Dean Court as Everton and Bournemouth both scored in injury time to share the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

They were breached after 24 minute as, sporting gold boots, the England striker demonstrated the coolness and precision in front of goal that are quickly becoming his trademarks to put the hosts ahead. The Belgium global scored twice in last week’s win over Aston Villa to follow in the footsteps of legendary players such as Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo as the fifth player to score 50 Premier League goals by the age of 23.
