Jamie Vardy Targeted Amid Roman Abramovich Rumours
Chelsea may face January competition for the £30 million-rated striker Jamie Vardy from Manchester City but Leicester City will fight to retain their centre-forward.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to bankroll a big move in the January market and trusts Hiddink to identify targets despite only being caretaker manager.
Sunday January 3 rounds out the busy festive season and sees London sides Chelsea and Tottenham away at Crystal Palace and Everton respectively. Chelsea boss Hiddink’s No. 1 priority is likely to be Leicester’s in-form England striker Jamie Vardy as they desperately try to climb up the English Premier League.
We didn’t stipulate, but we know also that it’s always open.
Vardy has been in simply breathtaking form this season with 15 goals and five assists to his name.
More firepower is clearly needed and, with that in mind, a player in Vardy’s form fits the bill.
The Boxing Day games are followed by a full round of fixtures played between Monday December 28 and Wednesday December 30, with stand-out ties being Manchester United at home to Chelsea (Monday 28), Leicester versus Manchester City at the King Power Stadium (Tuesday 29), and Sunderland against Liverpool (Wednesday 30).
The Mirror claims that the Premier League outfit will look to add at least another year to the striker’s current deal and will offer him a weekly salary of £80,000.
It has certainly been a surprising start to the Premier League season and a quick look at the betting odds before the season began compared to now shows just how unexpected the last few months have been.
Further, there’s little reason to want to leave high-flying Leicester at the moment-especially for a club struggling in the manner Chelsea have been and the atmosphere of negativity surrounding Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
