Jamie Vardy to miss England game for wedding
HE has spent most of the season tying up opposition defences – but Jamie Vardy still expects to feel nervous when he ties the knot himself tomorrow.

“The major reason for it unfortunately, he had to cancel the wedding a year ago”.
Vardy’s 83rd-minute goal – his third goal in his last three worldwide appearances – earned Hodgson’s men victory at the Etihad Stadium in the first of three European Championship warm-up fixtures. “Winning the Golden Boot is always nice and something I’m proud of and very happy with”.
“I have to take those things into consideration”.
“It will be a very quiet night on Wednesday”. He was one of the quickest players I have ever seen. “It will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning we go back to the Grove and I have to make a decision on the 23 players”.
We all know I’m not Hodgson’s biggest fan, and I’m just keeping my fingers crossed he doesn’t revert to type and go defensive in France.
“I find the two roles exactly the same”.
Vardy – who scored 24 Premier League goals as Leicester won the title – started the 2-1 win over Turkey on the left of a front three but later moved into the centre and scored the victor. “I was told to make the normal runs that I would if I was down the middle, to help create space for Rosey (Danny Rose)”.
“We should be considered among the best strikers in Europe”.
“To play for my country’s awesome and I’d love to play until I retire”.
The England manager also highlighted the fact that the 29-year-old is not desperately needed for the Australia match, considering his recent displays and the fact his squad is boosted by a clutch of players.
After including the teenager in his squad, Hodgson said: “The competition for him is quite strong, he’ll understand that, but I think he deserves to be selected, certainly in this larger squad. In terms of a second preparation game it hasn’t caused me any particular problems”.
Marcus Rashford is also expected to train with the squad this week, despite limping out of United’s 2-1 F.A Cup final win over Crystal Palace.
“I’d have liked him to have rescheduled (the wedding) for a bit earlier, or a lot later, than he has done”, Hodgson said.

Hodgson added that he is “delighted” to be seeing the youngster over the next while but said “we will have to wait” to see if we “will be seeing a lot of him in the summer”.
