Such was his desire to stay at Leicester, the 29-year-old insists he never actually held talks with Arsene Wenger over a switch.
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is hopeful that the 25 year Mahrez will remain with the Premier League champions next season and has publicly expressed such a desire.
Vardy also claimed that he never spoke to Wenger about the move, and was instead focusing on England’s Euro 2016 campaign.
The England worldwide was said to be contemplating the offer, with his wife Rebekah seemingly confirming a proposed deal, but he instead opted to sign a new four-year contract with the Premier League champions.
Though Leicester were able to convince top scorer Jamie Vardy to turn down interest from Arsenal and sign a new contract N’Golo Kante has been lured away, moving to Chelsea for £32million earlier this month.
I think everyone in the squad would want him [Mahrez] here playing with us. No I didn’t speak to them’. “But it’s nothing to do with us, it’s up to Riyad and the club to deal with”.

Vardy is still struggling with a wrist injury and missed Leicester’s 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup on Sunday.
