It was announced today that the screen legends are set to begin principal photography on the Netflix original feature “Our Souls at Night” in Colorado on September 12.

Principal photography is set to begin Monday in Colorado on the feature film Our Souls at Night, starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. The film will be produced by Finola Dwyer (Brooklyn). Ben Ormand serves as Executive Producer, according to a release from Netflix.
Her husband died years ago, as did his wife, and in such a small town they’d been neighbours for decades, but had little contact. The pair has nearly no relationship, but that all changes when Addie tries to make a connection with her neighbour. Bruce Dern and Judy Greer are also set to star.
“I’m looking forward to teaming up with Jane and working with the talented Ritesh Batra”, Redford said in a statement.
“‘Our Souls at Night’ is an endearing story and I’m happy we get to share it with a broader audience”, the legend added.
Fonda and Redford previously starred together in the film version of Neil Simon’s play “Barefoot in the Park” (1967), which Redford had starred in with Elizabeth Ashley on Broadway, and “The Electric Horseman” (1979; pictured).

About 30 minutes earlier, Fonda exited the house that will be used as the home of Redford’s character in the film and crossed the street to meet waiting fans. Batra will be directing two iconic Hollywood stars in the Netflix film Our Souls At Night.
