Janet Jackson alludes to pregnancy in decision to halt tour
Janet Jackson is delaying her ill-fated tour because she and her husband are “planning our family”.

In a video released via Twitter this morning [Wednesday, April 6], Janet Jackson announced she is pushing back her world tour for the second time to focus on a personal goal. She then pleaded with fans to understand that “it’s important I do this now”. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders, but I have not forgotten about you. If Jackson is indeed expecting, via the old-fashioned way or a surrogate, it will be the first child for the 49-year old superstar (who is turning 50 next month) and her 41-year old husband, Wissam Al Mana.
Jackson begins the clip by thanking her fans for seeing the show each night. She doesn’t actually say if she’s pregnant, or undergoing fertility treatment. Together, this husband and wife team have written songs like You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling (with Phil Spector), On Broadway (with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller), Walking In the Rain, Kicks, Soul and Inspiration, We Gotta Get Out of This Place, I Just Can’t Help Believing, Here You Come Again, Never Gonna Let You Go, Just Once, the GRAMMY nominated Don’t Know Much (with Tom Snow), and the double GRAMMY-winning Somewhere Out There, to name just a few.
Jackson said at the time the North American leg of her “Unbreakable” tour would resume May 14 in Las Vegas. “It’s been a long journey and you guys have been there each and every step of the way”. “I will see you soon, I love you, bye”. She married singer James DeBarge in 1984, when she was 18. She had been next scheduled to perform in early January in Denver.
In August of previous year Jackson launched her Unbreakable World Tour.

Two weeks later, Jackson announced rescheduled tour dates after she took some time to recover from the surgical procedure. Janet was definitely bummed to tell fans that she had to postpone the rest of her tour, but she was simply glowing as she revealed that she’s going to have a family! He also appears in one of her music videos, and it’s his hands covering her breasts in the famous topless photo on the cover of Rolling Stone, which was later used for the cover of her album “Janet”.
