Voting concludes on December 9, when a “fans” ballot’ will be included when the Rock Hall voting body makes the final decision.

The nominees for the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction have just been announced, and Nine Inch Nails and Deep Purple are among the 15 contenders.
Janet – Miss Jackson if you’re nasty – would uphold a family tradition. The Cars’ brittle New Wave pop of “My Best Friend’s Girl” helped define the turn into the 1980s. Midwestern favorites Cheap Trick’s Beatles-at-top-volume sound became a hit after they traveled to Japan and made a live album before an enthusiastic audience.
In order to be eligible for induction this year, artists or bands need to have released their first single or album in 1990 or earlier.
An L.A.-based grass-roots campaign lobbying on behalf of singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson failed to get the late musician a nomination this year.
The nomination process hasn’t resulted in “Good Times” for Chic.

The public can vote for their favourites, alongside more than 800 artists and industry experts. Only approximately five of those acts will actually be chosen as part of next year’s Hall of Fame induction class, which will be announced in December. HBO, which is owned by CNN’s parent company Time Warner, will broadcast the ceremony at a later date.
