Japan’s Nishioka in Atlanta Open semis
– The Aussie stopped John Isner’s 15-match winning streak in Atlanta and ended the American’s quest for a historic four-peat at the hard-court event. “It was my first final since here a year ago”. It was my first final since here past year. Isner had won the event each of the past three years. “It was a couple lucky points here and there, and that’s what it’s going to come down to with John”. “More percentage, more power”, said Nishioka.

After winning the second set, Isner left the court for almost nine minutes to change his clothes in the hot and humid conditions.
With the victory, Kyrgios reaches his first semi-final since the Estoril Open in April. Both players combined for 9 aces in the third set, 5 for Isner and 4 for Opelka.
Stay tuned to Lob and Smash for more coverage of the Atlanta Open, as well as coverage from the Olympics in Rio. His finals opponent will be Australia’s world no. 18 Nick Kyrgios.
The 21-year-old Australian played crisply, and the second-seed kept asking for balls quickly when he was serving so he could dictate tempo.
Kyrgios now has the chance to claim his second ATP title, having triumphed in Marseille in February. After dropping the first set in a tiebreak, Isner won the next two sets by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. He went through three shirts. But Kyrgios rallied to force deuce and eventually won the game. He dropped just five points on his serve in the final set to win the match.
Kyrgios agreed that the early comeback propelled him toward victory. Nick Kyrgios unleashed 7 aces to 0 against Nishioka during the thirty-three minute third set.
Duan Ying-Ying of China captuerd the Jiangxi Open championship in Nanchang, China, upending sixth-seeded American Vania King 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the final. “I couldn’t put pressure on his first serves either”.
