Jared Allen Announces Retirement By Riding Horse
Jared Allen announced his retirement Thursday morning, concluding what could be a 12-year Hall of Fame career, but was definitely a nice career for No. 69.

Allen said in a tweet that he was “riding off into the sunset” and shared his thanks in an accompanying video. A big-game hunter and adventure seeker who grew up on a ranch outside of San Jose, Calif., Allen literally rode off into the sunset – well, kind of – in hanging up his cleats after 12 seasons.
“Since there is no sunset today, I am just going to ride off”.
So that’s it and that’s all.
He started 12 games and recorded 25 tackles, two sacks and 16 quarterback pressures as a member of Carolina’s defensive line rotation.
Allen, 33, finishes his career with five Pro Bowl selections and 136 career sacks. It is with a great deal of thought and consideration, that I have decided that I will not return to football next year.
Allen was selected to four Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams in his six seasons with the Vikings. Allen posted a video to Twitter showing himself on a horse, in a killer jacket and cowboy hat.

Allen was a fourth round pick out of Idaho State by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004 and quickly became one of the NFL’s best pass rushers. Meanwhile, Allen went on to play out his contract in Minnesota before stops in Chicago and Carolina.
