Jared Leto Is Set To Star In Upcoming ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel

In a new video from MTV International, the “Suicide Squad” cast – including Jared Leto (Joker), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Will Smith (Deadshot), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Karen Fukuhara (Katana) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) – discusses some of their favorite scenes that didn’t make it into the final release.

The untitled sequel will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, and released in October 2017.

Ridley Scott, who directed the first “Blade Runner” is signed onto the film as executive producer.

There has been a lot of mystery regarding the sequel, especially with the title of the movie being still unknown. As for actual screen-time, Scott told “Variety” that Ford’s character would only appear in the third act. After all, if we do the math, this movie will be set in, or around, the year 2050, and a 75-year-old Deckard, even taking futuristic advancements into consideration, will probably be retired. Dave Bautista (WWE fame and Guardians of the Galaxy), another addition to the film, posted a picture of himself with an origami unicorn a few months ago (hint, hint). But mostly just Jared Leto.

Jared Leto has reportedly spoken out against Warner Bros after being left unhappy with his contract for Suicide Squad and how the film turned out. Now after more than 3 decades, fans of the sci-fi tech-noire movie will finally get a sequel in “Blade Runner 2”.
