Jared Leto Says He’d Like to Do a Joker-Centric Film

But somehow, critics are panning this explosive popcorn romp at every turn. To some, she’s still the breakout.

One of the most awaited movie of 2016 is finally here as so is TheNewsRecorder.com to update you on the box office collection of the film. “This is a David Ayer film, and Warners is proud to present it”. “You want to talk about a really, difficult, complex performance?”

“It bested anything that we could have expected”, said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president. Previously seen together in “Focus”, the two take the limelight with Smith returning to the witty repartee similar to his earlier works and Robbie taking on the highly cheerful, femme fatale role with style. That sentiment transferred over to DC’s comic-book division, where Harley Quinn debuted in a series based on Batman’s animated adventures and eventually arrived in DC’s main comic-book universe, where she has her own series as well as frequently appearing in other titles. She’s amusing, lethal, and certifiably insane, but there is also an underlying sweetness to the character and how she interacts with the rest of her team. Even when the camera is not focused on her the audience’s attention is focused on her.

Robbie has a lot of fun as Harley Quinn, but the film’s biggest dose of publicity has surrounded her on-screen boyfriend.

She explained: “I’ve always been a big fan of witches so I knew a bit about that in the magic sense of it”.

In the movie, the Joker tortures her with electro shock therapy and gifts her to another man, while she fantasizes about suburban domesticity.

“There’s a lot that’s not going to be on the screen …” “I think that would be great”, he said, “to dive in deeper to the Joker and expand the story and to learn a bit more about this sick and twisted – but lovely – odd man”.

Ayer’s film needed to be PG-13, though. While the plot is kind of a mess in some places and rushed in others, the movie gives its very good cast the chance to play with some really interesting characters (barring Jared Leto’s Joker, but more on that later). “There’s so much that we shot that’s not in the film”.

Still, many critics, like Buzzfeed’s Alison Willmore, MTV’s Amy Nicholson and The Daily Beast’s Jen Yamato, are dismayed that the relationship and the complex figure of Harley Quinn is not investigated further. Being a high budget DC comic flick, most I gather wanted to see if Jared Leto as The Joker would live up to the part played by Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight.

The screenplay also needs to be blamed for the second act. “It deserves to breathe”.
