Jared Leto says he was tricked into playing the Joker

But it’s still hard for Leto to know exactly what he despises about “Suicide Squad” because he’s yet to actually go and watch the film after becoming disheartened by all of the cuts to the Joker’s scenes. During a Q&A, Leto told a group of fans that he felt “tricked” into playing the Joker. This time it’s Jared Leto at Camp Mars, a summer camp for fans of his band 30 Seconds to Mars (let that sink in), saying he was tricked into doing the film.

Leto allegedly also revealed that Warner Bros made him sign a contract that stopped him from partaking in the likes of rock climbing and other unsafe activities to prevent injury. If I were to die tomorrow, maybe the studio would roll something out. Like “Batman v Superman”, “Suicide Squad” was not well-received by critics, and earnings for both slipped almost 70 percent after just a week in theaters.

According to the fansite, Leto has yet to see the film.

And it sounds like he might never return as the Joker for future sequels after making his feelings about Warner Bros known at a recent music event.

“There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start”, the actor said to IGN. Critics complained that the dark tone didn’t work for Batman v Superman among other things, and Warner Bros took note.

Suicide Squad barely features Jared Leto as The Joker.

The film has suffered a justifiable crtical backlash, with many commenting on the poor structure, CGI and storyline which failed to show the legendary DC Comics villains in a good light.
