Jared Leto says The Joker was inspired by David Bowie
In case you didn’t know already, Suicide Squad tells the terrific-looking tale of the world’s most risky, incarcerated super-villains who are sent off on a mission to defeat a deadly enemy. Harley Quinn has become a divisive figure. But it doesn’t have much room to breathe; there are some tiresome bits, and Leto’s Joker suffers in comparison with the late Heath Ledger.’ Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian. He doesn’t want to tell you to wait out the theatrical version for the far superior version. His relationship with Harley doesn’t have the effect we were hoping for, and his brand of villainy seems too over the top and cartoon-ish for such a dark film.

Say what you will about the Marvel movies, but they’ve learned how to distribute moments among a large ensemble; Suicide Squad is so clearly created to push Deadshot and Harley Quinn and its poser Joker that everything becomes expendable. Perhaps the most painful part of the film was watching the squad’s dignities be stripped away by Amanda Waller, who was their judge, executioner, and probably the best part of the film.
“Compared to the indistinguishable Helicarrier environs favored by Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest of the Marvel gang, the comic book world of Suicide Squad feels rich with grotesque touches and varieties of texture, from the dank to the ostentatious”.
We all know how that turned out.
In “Suicide Squad”, we have the familiar “Dirty Dozen” set-up. Sure, she has jokes and schtick for miles, but it was so delicately crafted that you lost some of her chaotic, feral charm.
“Fun and stylish – a comic book come to life” – that was how I described David Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD last night, a one-liner delivered moments after leaving the theater from a Thursday night showing, responding to comments from Facebook friends who noticed my check-in. We see too little of what drives Boomerang, Killer Croc and Slipknot. I’m not saying no. We see her pitching her idea to the government and eventually getting approval. Rick Flagg is a surprisingly layered character whose interactions with the team bring out different sides to them.
“[Will Smith’s] cocky line readings (as Deadshot, an assassin whose gimmick is, um, accurate shooting) are Suicide Squad’s only reliable source of pleasure”. For bad-behavior superantiheroism that hangs together, at least, “Deadpool” is twice the movie. He’s supposed to be a mega-gangster, but really just resembles that creepy guy who’s always in the roped-off section of a nightclub, tossing money around and making threats at anyone who looks at his girlfriend.who’s dancing on a pole in the middle of the club (STOP LOOKING!). DC Entertainment works in concert with many key Warner Bros. divisions to unleash its stories and characters across all media, including but not limited to film, television, consumer products, home entertainment, and interactive games.

Batman threatens to expose what she’s doing with the Squad, but she turns the tables on him, threatening to expose his secret identity. There’s a strong case to be made that it’s a better movie than its predecessor in the DCEU, Batman V. Superman, as it does more with less when it comes to the popularity of its characters, and tries something new instead of repeating the mistakes of past films.
