Jason Benham on Planned Parenthood Shooting: Pro-Lifers Would Have ‘Taken the

Schakowsky said there has been an increase in arson and other attacks on Planned Parenthood facilities since an anti-abortion rights group released a series of sting videos targeting the organization in July. Nine others were wounded, and hundreds more were trapped in nearby businesses as the police struggled to take the gunman into custody. He’s being held with no bond because of the first-degree murder charge against him.

One police officer and two civilians died in the attack, which, according to newly emerging details, began just outside the building, adjacent to a shopping area on the northwest side of Colorado’s second-largest city.

Several U.S. media outlets, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, have said Dear used the phrase “no more baby parts” in statements he made to investigators after his surrender.

Prosecutors said making them public would jeopardize the ongoing investigation. Some conservatives have said they’d support such a showdown. One possible avenue could be the 1994 Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which makes it a crime to injure or intimidate clinic patients and employees.

Huckabee, speaking about the alleged shooter Robert Dear on his Huckabee Exclusive podcast, said at the time of his recording, no motive for the shooting was known, but added that a lack of known motive didn’t stop the left from placing blame and jumping to conclusions.

Planned Parenthood and others have said the videos, which purport to show discussions about the sales of fetal tissue, were deceptively edited.

Asked about the absence of domestic terrorism charges, Attorney General Loretta Lynch replied, “Well, as you know, there is no specific domestic terrorism statute”.

Vicki Cowart, president of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, has also claimed that Dear “was motivated by opposition to safe and legal abortion”.

But Michaux said it seemed clear what drove Dear there.

“That may or may not be the case here”.

Democrats have said they are participating in that panel to be in a position to defend Planned Parenthood. The organization has denied seeking any payments beyond legally permitted reimbursement of the costs for donating the organs to researchers.

Six Democrats wrote a letter to Ryan, R-Wisconsin, saying “In the aftermath of the attack at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs last Friday, we strongly urge you to disband the Select Investigative Panel of the Committee on Energy and Commerce”.

The president also defended Planned Parenthood, and condemned the violent, mendacious rhetoric espoused predominantly by Republicans in Congress and on the campaign trail.
