Jason Kander releases two blockbuster ads, putting Roy Blunt to shame

“I’m Jason Kander. Senator Blunt has been attacking me on guns”.
Blunt received three student deferments during the Vietnam War and did not serve in the military.
Missouri’s current secretary of state, Democrat Jason Kander, is trying to defeat incumbent Sen.
The camera zooms in slowly as Kander – standing in an empty warehouse that looks like it was used a team of hackers before the NSA got wise – assembles the weapon. As he explains in the campaign ad, he once volunteered to ride in a convoy of “unarmored SUVs” as an “extra gun”. “I also believe in background checks, so that terrorists can’t get their hands on one of these [guns]”.
Kander’s campaign said the new ad is part of a statewide ad buy that began running Thursday.
Kander adds that his record on guns has remained the same since he was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives.
“Missouri politics is all guns, all the time” in this election, said Peverill Squire, a political science professor at the University of Missouri. “The appeal is to people who like the patriotism”. And in the state legislature, I supported Second Amendment rights.
“It doesn’t matter how skilled you are at assembling a rifle when you consistently vote against law-abiding citizens’ constitutional right to self-defense”, NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker told the Associated Press. “Voters will not be fooled”.
“I’d like to see Sen”. And I’m back on my (tired) feet, ready to keep pressing Congress to end its silence on gun violence.
