One of the youngest teams in the league will have to play without coach Jason Kidd as he recovers from right hip surgery. He coached during the Bucks’ 101-95 win over the host Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

Branislav Ivanovic , Pedro and Oscar scored the goals to lift them to 15th, albeit still only four points above the bottom three. Many Premier League observers will suggest that the Foxes will not be able to carry on this form for the rest of the season.

The surgery will be performed by a hip specialist in NY.

Indeed, that winning mentality is part of the 44-year-old’s nature, and he is unlikely to let his standards slip over the next six months.

“I have every confidence in Joe to lead our team during my absence”, Kidd said in the statement.

The Bucks, though announcing his status as indefinite, hope Kidd will be sidelined only four to six weeks and thus be able to return to the bench in February, sources said.

Prunty stepped in for Kidd earlier this season when the Bucks coach was suspended one game for swiping the ball out of referee Zach Zarba’s hands in Milwaukee’s home loss to the Sacramento Kings on November 25.

“It’s been chronic for the last three to four years, since I was in Dallas the last time”, Kidd said in an interview with Bucks TV.

Kidd said he tried to put off the surgery as long as he could, but the pain has gotten to be too much and his doctor advised to have the surgery immediately.

The pain in Kidd’s hip stems from his time with the Dallas Mavericks late in his playing career. The Bucks’ next game is on Wednesday against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers.

Kidd joked Sunday that Prunty could emulate Golden State interim coach Luke Walton, who has posted a 26-1 record while coach Steve Kerr is recovering from back surgery. Prunty also is the head coach of Britain’s national team.

The Bucks’ coaching staff is all set for his absence.

Kidd’s tenure in Brooklyn ended just a year later when the Bucks acquired him for two future second-round draft picks, becoming the second coach in as many years to be traded for draft selections.
