Jason McCourty needs another groin surgery, headed to IR

It’s the bad side of the short week that should have the Titans concerned.

Mularkey said Titans receiver Kendall Wright, who has missed two games with a knee injury, is improving, but his status for Thursday’s game against the Jaguars remains uncertain.

“He had been blocking better the last two weeks, which has really been demanded of that group”, interim coach Mike Mularkey said.

“We have to figure out who is healthy, ” Mularkey said. In the receiving end, Delanie Walker had 52 yards in three receptions while Justin Hunter added 47 yards in four catches.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans receiver Justin Hunter had surgery Monday afternoon to fix a fractured ankle and has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season. McCourty originally suffered the injury in training camp on August 6 and had surgery on August 24.

The Titans were thin in the secondary already, as cornerback Perrish Cox missed yesterday’s game as well, and Blidi Wreh-Wilson was on the injury report last week.

“We’ve got to be smart about how we go about this week, because it was a physical game”.

Al Woods is dealing with a high ankle sprain that will keep him out a couple of weeks.

-RUSHING OFFENSE: D-minus. The running game had a 25-yard touchdown run by Dexter McCluster, and other than that McCluster had zero yards rushing. They will know more when the team has their walk through later today. Mariota had just 185 yards passing on Sunday with no touchdowns and one interception. The two dig at one another about who had the better show!

-SPECIAL TEAMS: C-plus. Ryan Succop made his only field-goal try, a 45-yarder.

Mularkey said that they wouldn’t necessarily have to add a corner to fill McCourty’s spot.
