Jason O’Mara Cast in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Series

Thanks to this casting news, and the newly-released Season 4 summary from the studio, we’ve been able to piece together some key intel about where the show stands. And while initial rumors have pointed toward a number of people who could fill his shoes, it has now been confirmed that Jason O’Mara has been tapped to replace Coulson as director. But with the world believing that Daisy is a unsafe outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Fitz, Simmons and May are now training “specialist strike teams”, leading to suspicions that the show could introduce the British agency STRIKE. “Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the director’s confidant”. As the Marvel press release stated, Robbie Reyes (played by Gabriel Luna) is a junkyard mechanic with a penchant for violence not unlike The Punisher from Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil.

There is a new S.H.I.E.L.D. director in town – and a lot of fans are absolutely furious. Meanwhile, Fitz discovers that socially awkward genius and friend Dr. Radcliffe has started putting the finishing touches on a new, secret invention.

Jason O’Mara has joined the cast of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 4.

With Hydra gone, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new goal is tracking down powered individuals like Inhumans, with Daisy – who went rogue after Lincoln’s death – at the top of their list. Based on what to expect for Season 4 and Whedon’s announcement, this is exactly what he meant when he claimed they have more freedom with the “Inhumans” story. Season 4 of the superhero series will premiere on Tuesday, September 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. We do know that he’s going to have a big impact on everyone on the show.

But will the Ghost Rider be an ally to S.H.I.E.L.D.? Unrelated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the role of Ghost Rider was previously played by Nicholas Cage in the Ghost Rider movie of 2007 and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in 2012.

Lilli Birdsell (The Walking Dead) has been cast in Agents of SHIELD season 4 as a character named Lucy, according to Deadline.
